Message from our President
Your United Way imagines a community where all individuals have the opportunity to thrive and fulfill their dreams; Where all children enter school ready to learn, reading on grade level by the 3rd grade, and graduate on time college/career ready; Where families are financially stable; and our vulnerable population has a safety net as needed.
Thanks to you, we are seeing real progress in these areas. We work closely with our strategic partners, volunteers and other community stakeholders to ensure outcomes that help meet our goals. Just as important, as stewards of our donors’ investments, we continually seek ways that we can better serve those that are in need of our support.
We ask you to continue to imagine with us as we work tirelessly to achieve our goals. I have been and still is personally committed to our work. My vision for our communities in Hinds, Madison, and Rankin counties, is that all of us succeed together by having equal opportunities to improve our quality of life. I ask that each of you join me to turn that vision into reality. Together and United, we can make it happen.
It’s so easy to simply say thank you but that doesn’t seem to be enough in many cases. United Way could not exist without you, so please accept my sincere thanks and appreciation for all you do to help us help those we serve to realize their dreams.
Carol J. Burger, President and CEO
