GOAL:

United Way of the Capital Area believes that by increasing access to quality, affordable community-based health care, we can decrease the instances of preventable disease among the citizens of Hinds, Madison and Rankin counties.

AAWHI is an organization of professional women in the Jackson community who mentor fourth grade girls at Van Winkle Elementary School with the following objectives:

·         To improve the physical and mental well-being of the participants;

·         To increase the participant’s awareness of the importance of education in a successful lifestyle;

·         To educate participants and their families about the importance of exercise, proper nutrition, diet, and hygiene.
